How to play Texas Hold'em
Texas Hold'em is by far one of the most exciting poker games that you'll find. It is pretty easy for beginners to learn and you'll find it in almost every popular land-based or online casino. Rules of the game :
- The first player to the dealer's left must put the small blind, which is usually half of the lower limit of the table.
- Each player receives two cards, face down. These cards are called the pocket cards.
- The first round of betting starts.
- The three community cards are placed, face up. These cards are called the 'flop' cards.
- The second round of betting starts with the blinds. Bets are placed at the lower limit.
- After the betting round, another community card is dealt to the players. This card is called 'the turn'.
- Another round of betting begins with the blinds, as before. This time the bets are at the high limit of the table.
- The fifth community card is dealt to the players. This card is called 'the river'.
- The last round of betting begins.
- After the last betting round, all the players show their cards. This is called 'the showdown'. The players can form their hands from the combination of the table cards and their own pocket cards. They can also use only the community cards without using their own pocket cards at all.
The player with the highest ranked hand win the round.
