Poker Terms and Jargon

Poker players are using a special jargon in order to communicate between them and to discuss poker related topics. You don't have to know all the terms in order to play this game, but if you're playing in a casino, or even with friends, understanding the typical words that will be used during the game might be very helpful for you and for the rhythm of the game. No one likes to play with a novice who doesn't understand what the other players are talking about.

On this page, we decided not to list all the specific terms that are used in poker games but the most common and basic ones, the terms and slang that is needed for a serious game of poker, with friends or in a casino.
