Cowpie Poker

Cowpie poker is a variation of stud poker that can spice up your poker games. It's not as common as other poker variations like Razz or similar for example, but some people find this specific poker variation to be extremely entertaining, so you might as well try it too yourself and see whether it is to your likings.

Players

Like the original game of seven card stud poker, this variation is also played by 3 to 7 players, although sometimes you can add more players to the game.

The Game

This game is played almost the same as regular seven card stud poker. The part where the dealer deals the cards to the players has the same rules of regular seven card stud. But the main variation is that after the betting round that follows the final down card, all the players the remained in the game and didn't fold must split their hands into two hands. The first hand will have 5 cards and the other will have 2 cards.
The hand with the 2 cards must contain at least one card face-down and the second hand of the 5 cards must be a better hand that the other hand with the 2 cards.
After this split of cards another round of betting takes place and only then there's the showdown of cards.

Winner

The winner in this game can be one player or two players. The players who win are those who have the best 5-card hands and the best 2-card hands. If the same player has both the highest hands, he wins the pot, but if two players have the highest hands, they'll have to split the pot.
