Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud poker became a very popular variant of poker in the last few years. One of the reasons for that is that it's a convenient online poker game and you can find it in many online poker rooms.
This game is a table game that offers the player a chance to make a side bet in order to win a progressive jackpot. The chances to win the progressive jackpot aren't high, but still, there is a chance, and the regular house edge for the main pot is about 5%.
The Game
The game is played with only one deck of cards.
The game begins with the ante which is the first bet of each player. There's also the option to bet money on the progressive jackpot.
After the ante the dealer deals five cards, each face down. The dealer also deals himself another card, face up. Then the player must decide if he plays a bet and continues the game or fold and withdraw from the round.
After the decision, the dealer opens his cards. The dealer's hand must have an ace-king or better in order to challenge the player's hand. If not, the dealer folds and the pot is split 1:1.
If the dealer's hand qualifies, the player's hand is opened and compared with the dealer's hand. If the dealer's hand is better, the player loses the money in the pot. If the player's hand is better, the dealer pays the player for both wagers.
